Am back in New Zealand.

Hello everyone, Just wanted to write to let yall know that i'm back in NZ. We flew in Wednesday morning at around 8am. Was a great flight from Hong Kong. Unfortunately I didnt manage to sleep on the flight so I ended up being awake for around 36 hours... I did have a great sleep in my own bed last night. Im now trying to get tired..so i can go to sleep again but I am still on Korea time.

My time in South Korea was really awesome. Im so grateful to the Lord for providing me with the opportunity to be part of the Camp. Its always a priviledge to go to new places - representing the Lord,,, and sometimes I think NZ too..

While I was away I heard that Jay Jays clothing store in NZ released a new label of clothing called little loosers... i was quite disturbed about it. I remember sitting in my classroom after getting the email from Family first and praying for NZ... and then for once i took some action and wrote to the Company... I was soo excited today to hear that they were taken off the shelves. the power of PRAYER and ACTION.. I know many people would have responded to this. I hope that you are encouraged from this.. Like I was today!!

I think leaving NZ makes me realise the things I need to be grateful for, but it also wakes me up to the things that I think we need to change.

I really loved the simplicity of faith of the Christians I met.. and the churches I visited. It was very refreshing to get some new perspectives on things.

I have come home and feel at peace about 2008.. I feel like it is going to be a year of NEW BEGGININGS.. It stared with a new thing - teaching in South Korea... and I know there are more new things in store.

Over the next week I will be having a break - hopefully getting a sense of direction for the rest of the year.. I am excited.. and also aware of really keeping my eyes fixed on Jesus and not people, or things..

I better go and try and get some sleep.... heres a wee pic of me trying to sleep on the plane.. its not the best shot... but its what i need to be doing now.

blessings lots

1 More week in Korea

Well hello people... i'm not sure if many people read this, but i enjoy writing wee updates. Feel free to leave a comment if you have time.

We are into the last week of English camp. I have really enjoyed it and am so glad I came. I think it will be good to head back to NZ though as I have been missing my bed.. my friends and family. The camp environment or how we are living while at camp is pretty full on, and quite tiring. It will be good to have some time of rest when I get back to NZ.

This week we will be working on getting ready for the graduation ceremony on Saturday. My students are singing the theme song by the Monkees.. it should be pretty cool.

WE had the weekend off from satruday afternoon. It was fun to get out and see some of the sights of Pusan. We managed to ride the subway, go on a gondola, see some traditional Korean temples etc, and also get to Hyundae beach. WE found a department store to so I bought a jacket... it was a bit of a bargain so that was good! We went to church on sunday morning here on the University campus. It was an english service. Its awesome to know that God is the same all over the world, and that we have family every where. I'm being reminded of the importance of keeping my eyes fixed on the Lord, and walking by faith and not by sight. We heard a great message on Leadership and what is looks like to be a leader for the Lord. I really appreciated hearing a message straight from the WORD of GOD.. there truly is nothing like it.

Well... i gota go and have dinner..

blessings to you

I'm having fun

Last night we went out for dinner to the "Outback"- an Australian Restaurant. We had a whirlwind tour around the markets.. its the first time ive seen a fish market.. it was pretty cool. We will be heading back to the markets in the weekend so that will be great. The dinner was so nice as we got to eat some western food, i felt really full and a little sick afterwards.

Today i managed to get some new glasses- seriously like $60.. wow, very cheap.

One of my students is very sick and has been taken to hospital. She got hit on the head with a ball, and will not be returning to camp. Please pray that she will recover. I got my class to pray for her today which was so awesome. I think could understand that God CAN do miracles.

We have nearly finished our 2nd week teaching, i cant beleive how fast the time has gone. I am looking forward to coming back to NZ and seeing what the Lord brings my way for 2008.

The kids will be here soon for games... so i better go and get ready.

This is my class of 14 students.. I teach them 3 times a day, we are having lots of fun. I think that I will miss them when I have to leave.

This is a picture of Degan, Louise and I on our way to town to get Burger king for dinner. We just needed a little break from rice. The lit up tress are on the Universtity campus - its so pretty.
We are nearly half way through our teaching, and are all starting to feel a little tired. Its going really well though. I managed to buy something else other than socks - i found some nice perfume.. hehe.
Its nearly tea time, so i better go. We have to teach a class tonight .. its been a long day.

The kids are AWESOME

Hi there.... I just wanted to send out a wee email to say hi to you all from SOUTH KOREA. I'm just sitting in my classroom on the 5th floor... looking out my windom - and seeing some high rise apartments... and then some houses... lots of hills... its quite a poor area we are in, so its quite a different view that id get out my window at home.
I am having an awesome time so far. I am teaching 14 beautiful children. They are very cool kids. Their english is improving.. i think.. so i'm encouraged. At first they would hardly talk, but they are really coming out of their shells now.

Today is saturday and we teach till lunch time. This afternoon the parents come in for afternoon- we get to meet them so that will be awesome.

On thursday night a group of us went to the city - we got to see some shops/markets. There were underground ones which were sooo tiny. Shops were the size of my bathroom. I managed to buy some socks... they are pretty cool over here.. so i'm going to stock up.

Tonight we are going to have dinner with John our boss.. we will be going to his house for a meal so that should be pretty fun.
We are all getting on well and enjoying being in a different culture.
I think that kids are the same everywhere... i sometimes dont feel like i'm in South Korea... kids love having fun.. and they respond so well to encouragement and time given to them.

I have been doing singing with the kids - a specialist class in the afternoons. Barak Zamar is now famous in Korea.. hehe... thanks guys.. they love the CHOCOLATE song. The kids are singing in ALL the time. I did sing the Jesus version with some kids yesterday and afew boys changed the name Jesus to Budda . Im believing that God will do poweful things in the coming weeks - that he would be made known, that the children would come to know him... and the leaders to.
Your prayer would be much appreciated.
Well.... My kids will be here soon....
I better go and get ready.
love and blessings to you all...
I hope you had a great start to the year.

love..
